Colori Street Festival Community Service Event
Get ready for the last and most exciting community service event of the semester?? We will be volunteering in the 3rd annual Via Colori Street Festival, benefiting The Center for Hearing and Speech, this next weekend (Nov. 23rd) in Downtown Houston at Hermann Square, City Hall (Smith St.) and the surrounding streets Bagby, McKinney and Walker from 10-2.
Over two days (11/22-11/23) 175 artists will create pastel drawings in Sam Houston Park. Entertainment is provided by fifteen bands, including: The Neptones, Two Star Symphony, Sideshow Tramps, Wild Moccasins, and
Moses Guest. There will also be food, beverages, and children's activities.
The mission of The Center for Hearing and Speech is to enable children with hearing impairments to reach their full potential by teaching them listening, speaking and literacy skills.
Volunteering at this event is a great way to give back and get involved in your community. This event is also a great opportunity for network personally with representatives from sponsoring companies, such as, Reliant Energy, KPMG, PWC, Wells Fargo, Sysco, United Airlines, Baker Hughes,... Please sign up at the link below asap! If you need a ride sign up at the carpool link, if you will be driving and are able to give anyone a ride (especially from campus) please sign up to provide a ride! It is a team effort to make sure that no one who would like to participate misses out because they don't have transportation. Also, parking in the area parking garages is $10, if you carpool with someone be prepared to share the cost of parking with the driver!
